The African Community Network of Greater Richmond, Virginia (ACN) is a nonprofit 501c3 organization based in the City of Richmond.  We provide resources, support and empowerment to the African community in the Greater Richmond area and abroad in the areas of education, economic development, health, advocacy and social and cultural exchanges.

The ACN partners with community leaders, organizations, schools, agencies and others to address the diverse needs of the African community within the Greater Metro Richmond area and beyond. We work hard to build connections of access, understanding and inclusivity, to serve as a voice for the African community, and to foster an environment of multiculturalism within the community at large.

ACN is comprised of committed individuals from the U.S. and Africa whose mission is to link African immigrants and families with the necessary support, opportunities and information to succeed. While we provide resources to individuals and families, ACN also serves as a unified voice to address the collective issues and needs of the local African community. ACN has pushed for key immigration legislation impacting Africans within the community, provided health experts to educate the community during the Ebola crisis to increase awareness and reduce stigmas, served as a continuous liaison to keep the African community informed and engaged in local issues and collaborated with local social justice organizations to ensure equal access and treatment for the African community. We also aim to build a stronger connection between all within the African Diaspora.

We look forward to building partnerships to advance our efforts. Together, we can make a difference.
